2. Systems Requirements

In order for Eric Snider's Solitaire to install properly, the following requirements need to be met:

  • At least 200k of free RAM on your Palm OS Device
  • Palm OS version 3.1 or later

Click here to find out if your device is compatible. If you don't see your device on this list then please let us know!

3. Trouble Downloading or Installing the Game

Downloading our games should take very little time (i.e. less than one minute). Just click the Download button to start downloading and it should finish before you know it. Please pay attention to where you save the file in case you need it in the next step.

Our games are distributed in ZIP file format. Since ZIP files are compressed you will need a utility to decompress the file. Most decompression software will automaticlly "unzip" the file for you once your download is complete. If this doesn't happen you'll need to run your Unzip program and decompress the file manually. This is the time when it's helpful to know where the ZIP file was saved.

Once the downloaded file has been decompressed you can just open the file which should start the Palm Installer. Just HotSync and you're ready to go!

4. Playing a Game

Just tap the "?" button which is always on-screen to read the rules for the current game. Here are some tips that will help you have more fun while you play:

Move cards by dragging them, tapping them, or by throwing them! Just tap, and then let go while you're dragging and you will throw the card.

Enter a number to find all the cards of that rank (0-9, J, Q, K, A).

Enter the first letter of the name of a suit to highlight all cards of that suit (C for Clubs, D for Diamonds, H for Hearts, or S for Spades).

Enter a backspace character (draw from right to left in the graffitti area) to undo your last move. Enter a space (draw left to right) to re-do a move.

Tap the score in the upper right to see your statistics

5. Purchasing the Game

It's easy to purchase Eric Snider's Solitaire. Just click the Purchase button at the top of this page. Click the "Checkout" button once you've chosen the games you want to buy.

Enter your billing address, contact information and your HotSync Name.

Now click the "Next" button and enter your credit card number. Click the "Next" button. Check to ensure your order looks correct and then click the "Submit Order" button.

How to find your HotSync Name: Start the "HotSync" application on the user's Palm (see the picture above right). Look in the upper right corner of the Palm display and there it is. If you've already installed the game on your Palm OS device you can also find it by starting the game and then tap the "Buy" button. You'll find your HotSync Name shown under "User Name." If your trial has expired tap the "OK" button and you'll be sent to the "Buy" screen on your Palm. Either way it should look like the image below.

Palm Solitaire Serial NumberCompleting Your Order: Your credit card will be processed quickly (usually in less than a minute), and then you will receive your unlock code and receipt via email AND in your web browser. Enter the Unlock Code into the game on your Palm OS device and you'll be set! You can even beam the game to your friends! They'll be able to try the game for free for 7 days.

What if the OK Button Doesn't Appear?: If the "OK" button doesn't appear immediately after you enter your Unlock Code into the game please send us your HotSync Name and Game Serial Number (looks like "AB:CD:34"). We'll straighten out the problem right away!

If you have any questions about ordering send us email at support@sniderware.com

6. Beaming the Game to a Friend

You can beam the game to anyone with a Palm by tapping on the menu button at the bottom left of your screen or by tapping the title of the game (i.e. "Klondike"). Then choose "Options" from the menu bar. Point both devices at each other and select "Beam Eric’s Solitaire". It’s fun and easy! This won't give away your Unlock Code. This will just beam the 30-day-trial version of Eric Snider's Solitaire.

7. Accessing Other Games

Eric Snider's Solitaire starts you off with Klondike, the most popular solitaire variation around. But if you want to have more fun there are 9 other solitaire variations available too.

Tap the menu button at the bottom left of your Palm's screen or on newer Palms you can tap the title of the game at the top of the screen (i.e. "Klondike"). Once the menu bar is visible just tap the "Games" menu for a list of all the games you can play.

8. Changing Your Background

You can change background options from the main menu by tapping on the menu button at the bottom left of your palm screen or by tapping the title of the game at the top (i.e. "Klondike"). Then choose "Bkgnd" from the menu bar. You may then choose a color, a gradient (a blend between two colors), or one of the 10 backgrounds patterns (only 3 are available in the trial).

9. Changing Your Preferences

You can change your preferences by tapping the menu button at the bottom left of your Palm's screen or on newer Palms you can tap the title of the game at the top of the screen (i.e. "Klondike") to open the menu bar. Once the menu bar is visible just tap the "Options" menu. Finally just select the "Preferences..." menu item and you will see the Preferences dialog

Tap the "i" in the upper right corner for more information about each setting.

Safe Auto Play Up Turn this on to tell the game to play cards up to the Foundations when it's safe to do so. This allows you to concentrate on the challenging parts of each deal and let the game handle the clean-up for you.

Animate Cards - Leave this on to see the cards glide into position or turn it off for even speedier gameplay.

Show Playable Cards - This option tells the game to darken or lighten playable cards. This makes it easier to see what moves are available so you can concentrate on strategy rather than spending your time looking for cards. This is also a great feature to help you learn a new solitaire variation.

Show Stats After Game - Don't like to be reminded of how much you've been playing? Just turn this off to skip seeing your statistics after each game.

Show Score During Game - If you're not concerned with your score and are just interested in winning or losing use this option to hide your score.
